Kenai River

Anglers from all over the globe flock to the river each summer in hopes of landing a trophy salmon, rainbow trout, or Dolly Varden.  Hosting nearly a fifth of all sport fishing in the state, the Kenai River is Alaska’s most popular sport fishery.  The Kenai River boasts major runs of four Pacific salmon species- king, red, silver, and pink- in addition to trophy-sized rainbow trout and Dolly Varden.  In all, thirty-four different species of fish use portions of the Kenai River.  The Kenai is best know for world-class king (Chinook) salmon.  They are the largest North Pacific Salmon, over weighing from 50 to over 85 pounds.  The world record was caught on the Kenai at 97 lbs. 4 oz.![/vc_column_text][/qode_elements_holder_item][/qode_elements_holder][vc_empty_space height=”50px”][qode_elements_holder number_of_columns=”two_columns” columns_proportion=”33_66″][qode_elements_holder_item advanced_animations=”no”][vc_single_image image=”600″ img_size=”500×500″ qode_css_animation=””][/qode_elements_holder_item][qode_elements_holder_item item_padding=”20px 20px 20px 20px” advanced_animations=”no”][vc_column_text]

Seward

The small coastal town of Seward is known for its scenic views, numerous visitor attractions, and as the gateway to Kenai Fjords National Park. Seward is located about 125 miles south of Anchorage, about 3 hours by road. The town is the southern terminus of the Alaska Railroad, dating back to its origins in the early 1900’s. Homer Alaska

Only a little over an hour away is the beautiful city of Homer, it has the most beautiful view of the ocean and the glaciers of any where in Alaska. 150 miles southwest of Anchorage at the junction of Sterling and Kenai Spur Highways, Soldotna is approximately 10 miles inland from Cook Inlet and borders the Kenai River.  Wonderful activities including hiking/biking trails are available. Kenai

The City of kenai is located on the western coast of the Kenai Peninsula, where the Kenai River meets the Cook Inlet. Native and Russian history abound.
